FIRST BOOK DUE SOON!!!

I'm Agnostic. I like the idea of religion but I'm just not convinced by it.

Yesterday morning my cell phone died at work with no warning whatsoever.

Today after work I walked to the mall (95 degrees + HUMIDITY outside + LONG SLEEVES) which was fun...not. It's only about half a mile so it wasn't too bad. I went to the AT&T store and they told me my battery was fine but the phone was dead. Then they asked me if I dropped it in water. No. There was no water but my phone was declared defective goods. So I spent $100.00 on a new phone. Not something I'd planned on but hey when it rains it pours you know.

I called my dad to take me home and the moment I climbed the set of stairs to my apartment the salvage yard wrecker calls my cell. he's on the way to pick up my car. So I run down the stairs but of course they'd already driven down the road. I asked them to take me to the mechanic shop so I could meet the wrecker driver and sign over my car.

Once we made it to the mechanics ( 10 minutes later) I saw the wrecker had loaded the kia already and was getting ready to roll out. I ran up like "NOES!!!" Then I had to figure out how I was getting to the salvage yard and back. My dad had work and my mom said she'd drive out and pick me up. This was at 4:00 this afternoon mind you. I rode in the wrecker to the salvage yard which was way out the fuck in damn ghetto bad part of Memfrica.!! NOT FUN!!!

The process of signing it over and getting my money took all of fifteen minutes. I then called my mom to ask her to pick me up.

At 5:30 she was no where in sight, the yard was closing in 30 minutes and my NEW CELL PHONE I'd bought only a hour and a half earlier was running out of what battery it came out of the box with. To stress how shady this area of town was, in the time I'd been outside waiting there was a minimum of 6 cop cars riding by with lights blazing, two ambulances and a firetruck..a car also misfired and I thought it was bullets popping off. I was NOT HAPPY.

The manager of the yard came out at six to tell me his staff was leaving and I shouldn't be alone there because it was nearing dark. So he offered to give me a ride to a place nearer the interstate. He took me to Neely's Interstate BBQ saying it was a landmark that was safe to wait at.

So I waited. FOR A HOUR AND A HALF MORE. No cell phone, had no clue what time it was, and there was a guy who kept walking by eying me. The third time he waved at me I got out my phone acting like I was on it and went into the restaurant to order food because I hadn't eaten all day. The BBQ was really good. I walked back outside to eat because I didn't want to miss my mom's car driving past. Then the guy walks up to me and asked me if I owned the green truck in the mechanic shop next to the restaurant. I told him no. Then he asked if he could buy the truck from me. I told him I didn't own it. Then he walked off and when he did I got my ass out of there to the gas station down the street to try and find a payphone.

My mom FINALLY GETS THERE at almost 8pm. I know I have no car now but GODDAMN that was some bullshit! I do not like being stranded in the ghetto ass part of Memphis! DAMN! It didn't help I was still in my work clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was pissed to say the least. While grateful to have a ride I wasn't happy about the situation at all.

So there you have it. My big blow off goodbye to my car. I AM NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN. I have a six pack of beer calling my name.
